Sports Medicine Toronto
Sports Medicine Physicians are medical physicians (MD’s) certified in treating sport and non-sport related injuries. Any injuries to the musculoskeletal system (muscles, ligaments and bones) are evaluated by a sports medicine physician. Examples of such injuries include acute knee sprains; back sprains; neck sprains with or without muscle tears or bone fractures. Sports Medicine Physicians work closely with chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists and naturopaths to ensure a fast and efficient recovery to baseline.
Active Individuals without injuries may also benefit from a visit to a sports medicine physician. If you are active in sports, running, etc and want to evaluate your technique and posturing, a sports medicine physician along with our personal trainer will assist you in achieving a perfect harmony and body balance. This is essential in preventing injuries and also in bringing your game to the next level.
The sports medicine physician also provides hands on techniques and specialized injections to help heal injuries quicker. Â A referral is required to see our sports medicine physician. One of your family physicians or walk in physicians would be happy to make the internal referral. Please inquire within.
